Bohermore

Bohermore is located in the area of Galway city, Ireland. The name is derived form the Irish literally meaning "the big road".

There is a large cemetery located in Bohermore known as the 'new cemetery'. The cemetery contains two mortuary chapels, one Catholic and the other Protestant. People buried there include Lord Haw Haw William Joyce who was a main German broadcaster in English during World War II. Lady Augusta Gregory who was a founding member of the Irish Literary Theater Movement was buried in 1932 [Eachtra Archaeological Projects 1] as well as many victims of the KLM Flight 607-E air disaster. It is home to the local football team Galway Hibernians.
