Parasites
Huffmanela ossicola[3] is a nematode parasite found in the bones of the golden-spot hogfish (B. perditio), the blackfin hogfish (B. loxozonus), and B. busellatus in the waters of New Caledonia.
Haliotrema banana[4] is a monogenean parasite found on the gills of the golden-spot hogfish (B. perditio).
