Boban "Bobi" Marjanović (Cyrillic: Бобан Марјановић; born August 15, 1988) is a Serbian professional basketball player who plays for Red Star Belgrade of the Serbian League. He is a 2.21 m (7 ft 3 in) tall center.

Professional career

Marjanović began his professional career with Hemofarm in the 2006–07 season of the Adriatic League, but was loaned to Serbian League team Swisslion Takovo in January 2007. After half a season there, he moved back to Hemofarm. In the following seasons, he played an important role for his team together with his teammates from the national team, Stefan Marković and Milan Mačvan.

In the summer of 2010, Marjanović signed a three-year contract with CSKA Moscow on insistence of Duško Vujošević.[1] However, after Vujošević got fired, Marjanović lost his place in the first team. On December 31, 2010, he was loaned to Žalgiris until the end of the 2010–11 season.[2]

In July 2011, he signed with Nizhny Novgorod,[3] staying there for half a season. In January 2012, he signed with Radnički Kragujevac.[4]

In July 2012, he signed with Mega Vizura.[5] He had a great season, and was named MVP of the Serbian League.[6]

On July 2, 2013, Marjanović has signed a two-year contract with the Serbian team Red Star Belgrade.[7][8]

Serbian national team

As a junior national team player, Marjanović won the gold medals at the 2007 World U19 Championship and the 2008 European U20 Championship. He was on candidate list before the EuroBasket 2009 and the 2010 FIBA World Championship, but did not get in the final 12-man squad. His senior team debut at major tournament came at the EuroBasket 2011 in Lithuania, where Serbia finished 8th.
