Fact
- Heffner is one of three pitchers in Major League Baseball history to have three putouts in an inning. He did it in 1963, while playing for the Boston Red Sox. The only others to have accomplished this are Jim Bagby, Jr., also with the Red Sox in 1940, and Rick Reuschel with the Chicago Cubs in 1975.
