Bob Aylward

Bob Aylward (1911 – 18 July 1974)[1] was a Fianna Fáil politician from County Kilkenny in Ireland. He was a senator from 1973 until his death in 1974.
He stood unsuccessfully as a Fianna Fáil candidate for Dáil Éireann in the Carlow–Kilkenny constituency at three successive general elections: 1965, 1969, 1973. After his 1973 defeat, he was elected to the 13th Seanad Éireann on the Agricultural Panel, but died in office the following year.[2]
His son Liam (born 1952) is a Fianna Fáil MEP and former TD, and his other son Bobby (born 1952) was elected as a TD in the 2007 general election.[2]
