Blow Me Away (feat. Valora)

"Blow Me Away" is a song by American rock band Breaking Benjamin originally created specifically for the 2004 first-person shooter video game Halo 2. Since then the song has been released several times, including being released as a digital single in 2010 in the Album Dear Agony (Zune Version). It was remixed in 2011, featuring vocals from Sydnee Duran of Valora, and released as a promotional single. (its also the third original single of the album Dear Agony)

Releases

The song was originally written and recorded to be included on the video game Halo 2; thus, it can be heard twice during the game: a brief excerpt of the song's intro plays on the level "Outskirts", and a slightly remixed instrumental version plays towards the end of the later level "Gravemind". It was later released for the first time on the first volume of the game's soundtrack on November 9, 2004, and again shortly afterwards on the band's So Cold EP on November 23 (as the second track on both releases). The song was released as a digital single on February 23, 2010. The remix was released on June 7, 2011, and was also included on the band's greatest hits album, Shallow Bay: The Best of Breaking Benjamin, which was released on August 16.

Music video

The band announced they would be filming a music video for the remixed version (despite being on hiatus due to frontman Ben Burnley's recurring illnesses) to be directed by Christopher Mills and produced by Geoff McLean.[1] An official animated music video for the song was released on August 17, 2011.[2]

In popular culture

The song was used by the Boston Bruins during their 2010-11 season as the team's intro song at the beginning of each period.[citation needed]

Professional wrestler Bobby Lashley used the song as his entrance music when he appeared at Asistencia Asesoría y Administración's Triplemanía show in 2008.
