Blackdog is a hamlet approximately 2 miles north of the city limits of Aberdeen, Scotland.

It was planned to be the location of a wind farm.^[1]

It will be the terminus of the planned Western Peripheral Route, a planned bypass for the city of Aberdeen.^[2]

The nearby area serves as a shooting ground,^[3] and is used by the British Army for training.^[4]

In WW2, the beaches near Blackdog had Landmines planted in response to the fear of a German invasion, there are several recorded fatalities with Landmines. 10th March 1941, Sapper Lesley Whitney - Royal Engineers (age 23), March 17th 1941, Corporal Charles Crowe - Gordon Highlanders (age 24) and on March 18th 1941, Private Colin Innes - Gordon Highlanders (age 22) were all killed by landmines.

A public house called The Black Dog can be found in the nearby suburb of Bridge of Don, Aberdeen.
