Birkenhead Central MPD is a former Motive power depot located adjacent to Birkenhead Central railway station, built to replace that at Mollington Street. It has been disused for many years, although the depot housing still exists along with all the track. A single siding nearest the Ellesmere Port/Chester bound platform is frequently used for the storage of Merseyrail units.
