William Edward (Bill) Parry (1878 – 27 November 1952) was a New Zealand Minister and trade unionist.
Early years
Parry was born at Orange, in New South Wales, Australia and arrived in New Zealand in 1906.[1]
Parry was a miner at Waihi and Secretary of the Waihi Miners' Union. He was imprisoned at Mt. Eden during the 1912 Waihi miners' strike. He opposed conscription during World War I, but not during World War II.[2]

Bill Parry represented the electorates of Auckland Central from 1919 to 1946, and then Arch Hill from 1946 to 1951, when he retired.
Parry was the Minister of Internal Affairs from 1935 to 1949 and the Minister in charge of Pensions when Labour introduced Social Security in 1938.[3]
Parry died on 27 November 1952.[2]
