Bilbolbul is an Italian comic strip series created by Attilio Mussino.

    Background

Bilbolbul was published by the children magazine Il Corriere dei Piccoli from 1908 to 1933.[1] It is commonly considered the Italy's first comic.[1][2] The main character, Bilbolbul, is an African kid who takes always strictly to the letter and somatizes the most common metaphors and ways of saying, with surreal and bizarre effects.[1][3]
