The Bikur Cholim Synagogue on Iranistan Avenue in Bridgeport, Connecticut, was built in 1894. It includes Shingle Style architecture. It has also been known as Rodeph Sholom, as First Christian Church (Christ's Disciples), as South Congregational Church Mission, and as Metamorphosis. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1995.[1]
It is unusual as an example of Shingle Style architecture applied for a religious building; Shingle Style was primarily used for residences, often ocean-side residences.[2]
