The Big Yellow Group Plc is a provider of self-storage space in London and the South East of England.[2] The Company is listed on the London Stock Exchange and is a constituent of the FTSE 250 Index.
History
The Company was founded by Nicholas Vetch, Philip Burks and James Gibson in 1998. It was listed on the Alternative Investment Market in 2000 and transferred to the main market in 2002.[3] The company converted to a real estate investment trust in 2007[4] and later that year entered into a partnership with funds managed by Pramerica Real Estates Investors to develop another 25 stores in the Midlands, the North of England and Scotland.[5]
Operations
The company rents secure, clean, dry and well-lit individually lockable space in large warehouses. The company has a strong focus on security and convenience.
