The Biellese (also known as Biellese-Bergamasca) is a breed of domesticated sheep originating from the Piedmont region of Italy. It is a carpet wool breed used for meat production and belongs to the Lop-eared Alpine group of sheep breeds.[1]
Characteristics
Both sexes are polled[1] and display white (unicolored).[2]
On average and at maturity, rams weigh 85 kg (187 lb) and ewes 72 kg (159 lb). When rams reach maturity, they are 90 cm (35 in) and ewes are 82 cm (32 in) at the withers.[2]
