Bhowrah (also spelt as Bhowra) is a census town in Dhanbad district in the state of Jharkhand, India.
Geography
Bhowrah is located at 23°43′N 86°24′E / 23.72°N 86.40°E.[1] It has an average elevation of 153 m (502 ft).
Demographics
As of 2001 India census,[2] Bhowrah had a population of 44,253. Males constitute 54% of the population and females 46%. Bhowrah has an average literacy rate of 65%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with male literacy of 74% and female literacy of 54%. 13% of the population is under 6 years of age.
