Bhopalgarh Taluka is a taluka in Jodhpur District of Rajasthan state in western India.[2] Headquarters for the taluka is the town of Bhopalgarh.
Bhopalgarh Taluka is an eastern taluka among the eleven talukas in Jodhpur District. It borders Nagaur District to the north and east, Bilara Taluka to the south, Mandor Taluka to the southwest, and Bawadi Taluka to the west.[3]
History
In 2009 Bhopalgarh Taluka was divided, with the western half becoming Bawadi Taluka.
Demographics
In the 2001 Indian census, the formerly larger Bhopalgarh Tahsil recorded 271,567 inhabitants of which 140,057 (51.6%) were male and 131,510 (48.4%) were female, for a gender ratio of 939 females per thousand males.[4] In 2001 in Bhopalgarh, 100% of the households were rural.[4]
