Bhikhiwind is a town and a nagar panchayat in Tarn Taran district in the state of Punjab, India.[1] The town is located along the India-Pakistan border in Tarn Taran district of Punjab, India, 280 km from Chandigarh.[2]

As of 2001 India census,[4] Bhikhiwind had a population of 10,269. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Bhikhiwind has an average literacy rate of 66%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with male literacy of 71% and female literacy of 60%. 14% of the population is under 6 years of age.
