Bhavana Balsavar (born October 21, 1975) is an Indian film, stage and television actress.[1] She has worked in many Marathi movies and television serials. Bhavana is famous for her role of Chachi in Dekh Bhai Dekh (1993). Her mother Shobha Khote is well known actress of Hindi cinema.[2]

Early life and education

Bhavana was born to Dinesh and Shobha (Khote) Balsavar in Mumbai. An ICSE Board topper, Bhavana matriculated from Arya Vidya Mandir. She did her graduation in fashion designing from SNDT College, Mumbai. Her grandaunt Durga Khote was a legend of Indian cinema. Her uncle Viju Khote (brother of her mother) is also a well-known actor in Hindi cinema. Family background made her inclined towards the creative field. On February 8, 2011, Bhavana married actor Karan Shah.[3]

Career

Bhavana worked in many Hindi serials. She also worked in some of Hindi and Marathi movies. Bhavana Says about acting "Acting means portraying a character. It means convincing the audience that you are the character without letting them realise that you are acting."[4] She is also part of India's first silent comedy series, Gutur Gu (2010) on SAB TV, which became a hit.[5][6]
