Biography

Kingston trained at the Redroofs Film and Television School in 2009, following graduation from Warwick University with a first in history. She went on to star in musicals and theatre productions such as Romeo and Juliet, Fame and Copacabana.[2] In June 2009, Kingston auditioned for the role of India in Hollyoaks Desperately Seeking a competition run by Hollyoaks. She successfully gained a place in the final three,[3] before going on to win the competition after impressing producers.[4] Speaking of her role, Kingston commented, "I was really excited and elated to get down to the last 25, never mind the last six, then three then go on to win. [...] "When I was told that I was starting filming with Hollyoaks on Monday, I realised how quick a turnaround it is working on a soap! I'm just elated."[4] Kingston made her debut in the soap in September 2009 and a lead actor in the series that date to December 2010,when her character India was murdered by a man she met online. The episode and episodes surrounding this showed how dangerous meeting people on the internet can be. Kingston described these episodes as "It's going to be very upsetting because it comes as such a shock in the episode. She is in such a happy mood, she thinks she's found the one and she's talking about the future and is really hopeful about everything. And it's such a horrible thing that happens." Although the story marks the end of Kingston's time on Hollyoaks she said she was "really excited" to be given such a meaty exit storyline. More on this story line can be found on the Hollyoaks website.[5] In 2011 Beth later made a guest appearance in Hollyoaks through her killers eyes while he was looking at her sister, she returned for a third time on 5 July 2012 and once again on 10 July 2012 in her onscreen sister's dreams.
