Best-Lock Construction Toys is a brand of plastic building bricks that are compatible with Lego, but are sold much more cheaply. They have become more widely available since defeating a patent challenge from Lego in the Oberlandesgericht, Hamburg in 2004.[1][2] In a further case in 2009, Lego was denied trademark protection for the shape of its bricks.[3]

Best-Lock's sets cover Wild West, pirate and construction themes and, unlike Lego, include military models.

Best-Lock (Europe) Ltd is based in Colne, Lancashire, England.

Products

Best-Lock has 6 different kinds of products including Standard Blocks, junior Blocks (young children 2-5), Baby Blocks (For kids 0-2), Freestyle, Army, and ADAC License.

Standard Blocks include TOWN sets (Police, Fire and Construction), farming, tubes, and even Kimmy (Best-Lock sets made for females).

Licensed sets include Terminator and Stargate SG-1.
