History
St Leonard's Church was built in the 12th century. It has been designated as a Grade II* listed building[3] and is now in the care of the Churches Conservation Trust.[4] The manor was held by Shaftesbury Abbey's manor of Tisbury.[5] The church was built of flint and limestone, in the 12th century. By the 19th century the fabric of the building was decaying and, in 1859 a major restoration was undertaken. The font and a sculptured relief of the Lamb of God over the south doorway date from the Norman era.[4] The church was closed in 1966[6] and declared redundant in 1973[3] and is now in the care of the Churches Conservation Trust.
