Bersted is a civil parish in the Arun district of West Sussex, England. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 8,443. It is made up mainly of two villages, North Bersted and Shripney.
North Bersted is part of the built up area around Bognor Regis and lies on the A259 road 1.5 miles (2.4 km) northwest of the town centre.
Shripney to the northeast of North Bersted is a thirteenth-century hamlet. It lies on the A29 road 2 miles (3.2 km) north of Bognor Regis. It has the Robin Hood pub on the Shripney Road. In Shripney Lane, there are over forty dwellings, including thatched cottages and caravans. The most recent change to Shripney Lane was when modern houses were built in 2004.
The ancient village of South Bersted is now part of Bognor Regis civil parish.
