Bernd Thijs (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈbɛrnt ˈtɛi̯s]) (born 28 June 1978 in Hasselt, Belgium) is a Belgian football midfielder who is currently playing for Belgian club K.A.A. Gent.[1] His former clubs include Borussia Mönchengladbach, Standard Liège, Racing Genk and Trabzonspor. Thijs played five times with Belgium and was in the team for the 2002 World Cup.

Bernd Thijs is well-known because of his sober style, his ballhandling with both feet and his targeted long shots.
