Bernard Lewis (entrepreneur)

Bernard Lewis is the English entrepreneur behind the River Island fashion brand and clothing chain.

He was born in February 1926 and opened his first shop aged 20 selling fruit and veg in the North London area (on Holloway Road).^[1]

At the age 84, he is still involved in the day to day running of the group and is known to visit many of the company's shops at weekends with his wife Vanessa.

Lewis is estimated to be worth £1,030m (€1,484m). ^[2]
