Bermo block

Bermo block, one of the six administrative blocks of Bokaro district, Jharkhand state, India, has a population (1991 census) of 212,090. The block is composed of thirty-three villages.

Bermo is considered to be one of the political hub of Jharkhand. There are a numbers of political activities taking place in the Bermo Block. This is the working place of many of the political leaders like Lt. Bindeshwari Singh, Lt. Bindeswari Dubey (Ex. C.M.), Lt. Phulena Prasad Verma, Lt. Ramadhar Singh, Lt. Santan Singh, Lt. Ramdas singh, Lt. Ram Padarat Pandey, Lt. Raghuvansh Sahay, Rajendra Pd. Singh, Rabindra Kr. Pandey, VIKRAM SINGH etc.

Retrieved 2008-11-01.  Bermo had a population of 16,954. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Bermo has an average literacy rate of 58%, lower than the national average of 59.5%; with 61% of the males and 39% of females literate. 15% of the population is under 6 years of age.
