Behind the Mike

Behind the Mike was an NBC Red Network radio program introduced on September 15, 1940 with the last program broadcast on April 19, 1942, for a total of 83 episodes, only 32 of which are extant.[1] The purpose of the series, which was hosted by Graham McNamee, was to bring the listener behind the scenes of radio broadcasting, and to this end it featured interviews with a variety of people, including on-air personalities and announcers, musicians and other performances, composers, the creators of sound-effects, producers, engineers and other technicians.
