Beautiful Surprise is the fifth studio album by Canadian recording artist Tamia. It was released by Plus 1 Music Group and EMI on August 28, 2012.^[1] The singer worked with various producers which include Claude Kelly, The Runners, Carvin & Ivan, Salaam Remi, and J. Phoenix.^[2] The first single from the album, its title track, was released March 2, 2012. The album received a nomination for Best R&B Album at the 55th Grammy Awards which was held in February 2013.

The album debuted at number six on US Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums with the first week sales of 41,521 copies.^{[citation needed]} As of October 9, 2012, it has sold over 131,450 copies.^{[citation needed]} The album is scheduled for a UK release on October 28,2012^{[citation needed]} and was released in South Africa on November 19, 2012.^{[citation needed]}

Tamia was on tour with R. Kelly, The Single Ladies Tour, from October - December 2012 in support of the new album.^{[citation needed]}
