Amtrak's Beaumont Station serves Beaumont, Texas via the Sunset Limited service.
After the station sustained damage in Hurrican Rita the station building was removed and only a concrete platform was left. A new station is to be constructed, which will utilize $1.2 million in federal stimulus funding.[2]
Notable Places Nearby
As of November 2012 the new station has been completed. The brick building has a waiting room with seating. The platform has been
lengthened and there are handicap aids for boarding. The area is well lit. Toilet facilities are in a separate building which also houses a police substation. The station is not manned. There are no restaurants within the immediate area. There is a Dollar General nearby.
