bdnews24.com is one of the leading Bangladeshi news organizations by reach. It has an Alexa ranking [1] of 1400 or better and is consistently the most consulted Bangladeshi website worldwide. bdnews24.com is Bangladesh's first [2] and leading source of Bangladesh's news which is delivered both in Bengali and English. The station has already gained in popularity among readers for dissimilating information faster than other news agencies.[citation needed]

History

With the promise of delivering news fast and accurate[citation needed], the online newspaper started its journey in 2005 as the country’s first web-based news agency. However, the opportunity to look back to the drawing board came in the form of a friendly take-over in mid-2006 with boardroom changes at Bangladesh News 24 Hours Ltd, the owning company of bdnews24.com.

Editors

Former BBC broadcaster and journalist Toufique Imrose Khalidi took over as Managing Director of the company, and the organisation remerged as bdnews24.com. He, as Chief Editor, also headed a bunch of layabouts from across the profession.
