Batesville Casket Company is a manufacturer of caskets and cremation urns. The company is a subsidiary of Hillenbrand, Inc.,[1] and is headquartered in Batesville, Indiana.

In addition to Batesville, Indiana, there are factories in Batesville, Mississippi, Chihuahua, Mexico, Manchester, Tennessee, Mexico City, Mexico, and Vicksburg, Mississippi. A former outlet in Campbellsville, Kentucky, closed prior to 2000.

The company traces its roots to 1884, when John Hillenbrand began producing handmade wooden caskets.[citation needed] These caskets had ornate carvings made by casket and furniture companies.[citation needed] In 1906, Hillenbrand purchased the failing Batesville Coffin Company, and renamed it to Batesville Casket Company.[citation needed]
