Baskhari (Hindi: बसखारी, Urdu: بسکھاری) is a city and a municipal board in Ambedkar Nagar district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
Geography
Baskhari is located at 25°51′N 79°49′E / 25.85°N 79.82°E.[1] It has an average elevation of 118 metres (387 feet).
Demographics
As of 2001 India census,[2] Baskhari had a population of 19,634. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Baskhari has an average literacy rate of 65%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 78%, and female literacy is 59%. In Baskhari, 13% of the population is under 6 years of age.
Main Market
Baskhari is famous for fruit market and Medical stores in the center district. Also famous for its station before reaching the famous Shrine of Sufi Saint Hazrat Makhdoom Simnani which is approx. 2 K.M from here. Baskhari lies on the highways of Faizabad and Azamgarh. You can easily find UPT buses for Delhi, Lucknow, Kanpur, and Azamgarh, Gorakhpur. Baskahri is the main Police Station and Post office for the surrounding area. A cinema hall is also here at Jalalpur road named Vijay Palace.
Banks and Offices
The village also offer the facilities of few banks and ATM aka Cash Machines. The oldest bank here is Bank Of Baroda which is based on Jalalpur Road, Some of the new banks which have been opened recently are State Bank of India which has got the ATM facility, Union Bank on Tanda Road, LIC's satellite office near Damyanti petrol pum Jalalpur road, Baskhari.

There is a community health center for patients.Many private hospitals are also available here i.e. Verma Clinic at Akbarpur Road serving by famous physician Dr. Parashu Ram Verma and Dr. Dinesh Verma,Vardan Hospital at Azamgarh road by Dr. A.P.
