Barzanji Kurds

Barzanji (به‌رزه‌نجی) is a Kurdish clan inhabiting near Sulaimaniyah in Iraqi Kurdistan.

A notable personality from this family was Sheikh Mahmud Barzanji who founded a short-lived Kingdom of Kurdistan.

Barzanjis should not be confused with Barzanis who reside further northwest around Arbil.
