Bartle Bogle Hegarty is a British advertising agency, responsible for some notable advertising campaigns of the last 30 years. The company was founded by John Bartle, Sir Nigel Bogle & Sir John Hegarty in 1982. Sir John Hegarty and Sir Nigel Bogle still lead it today, together with worldwide CEO Simon Sherwood.

It has seven offices worldwide - London, New York, Los Angeles, Singapore, São Paulo, Shanghai and Mumbai. BBH employs more than 900 staff globally.

Portfolio

BBH has worked for global brands including Audi, Vodafone, PlayStation, Levi Straus, British Airways, Johnnie Walker, Omo/Persil & Axe/Lynx.

The company was responsible for commercials such as Levi's "Laundrette", and Levi's "Flatbeat" featuring Flat Eric, a small yellow puppet. They were also responsible for "Vorsprung durch Technik" for Audi, "The Lynx Effect" for Unilever and "Keep Walking" for Johnnie Walker whiskey.

Awards

BBH has been Agency of the Year twice at the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival,[citation needed] and has won 32 IPA Effectiveness Awards since 1988.[citation needed] BBH London was also Campaign magazine's UK Agency of the Year, an honour it has held in 1986, 1993, 2003, 2004 and 2005.[citation needed]

BBH also became Effectiveness Agency Of The Year for 2008 at both the IPA and APG awards, the first agency to achieve this feat.[citation needed]

The Agency has won the Queen's Award for Export twice and founder Sir John Hegarty was given the first Lion of St Mark award in recognition of his contribution to creativity in 2010.[citation needed]

Purchase by Publicis

In 1997, Leo Burnett Worldwide purchased a 49 percent share in BBH; that share was then held by the Publicis advertising group.[1]

In July 2012, a final 51% share in BBH previously attributed to the agency's co-founders was bought out by part-owners Publicis.[2]
