Barkhera is a town and a nagar panchayat in Pilibhit district in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India.

Geography

Barkhera is located at 28°27′N 79°48′E / 28.45°N 79.8°E / 28.45; 79.8.[1] It has an average elevation of 165 metres (541 feet).

Demographics

As of 2001 India census,[2] Barkhera had a population of 9881. Males constitute 54% of the population and females 46%. Barkhera has an average literacy rate of 41%, lower than the national average of 59.5%; with 70% of the males and 30% of females literate. 20% of the population is under 6 years of age.
