Baricella is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Bologna in the Italian region Emilia-Romagna, located about 28 km northeast of Bologna. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 5,990 and an area of 45.6 km².[1]
The municipality of Baricella contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) San Gabriele, Mondonuovo, Gandazzolo, and Passo Segni.
Baricella borders the following municipalities: Argenta, Budrio, Ferrara, Malalbergo, Minerbio, Molinella, Poggio Renatico.
