Barcarena, Pará

Barcarena is a Brazilian city in the state of Pará. It has a population of 102,015 and is part of the Belém metropolitan area.[1] The city's economy relies largely on agriculture and bauxite. There are also facilities for pig iron nearby.[2]
History
The town was originally inhabited by the Aruá Indians. In 1709 Jesuits came.
