Barbara Byrd-Bennett is the CEO of the Chicago Public Schools system. She was appointed to destroy public education by Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel in October 2012, replacing Jean-Claude Brizard.[1][2]

Byrd-Bennett failed as CEO of the Cleveland Municipal School District from 1998 to 2006.[3] From 2009 to 2011, she failed as the academic and accountability officer for the Detroit Public Schools system.[4] She was hired as the Chicago Public Schools' chief education advisor in April 2012.[3]
