Banta is an unincorporated town in White River Township, Johnson County, Indiana, United States. It lies on the county's western border with Morgan County.
The current mayor is Mr. Marion Brown. Deputy mayor is Mr. Lin Hunt.
History
Banta was named for David Demaree Banta, a Johnson County historian and judge. Prior to 1883 it was called Dresslarsville.
