Bankwood School, Hamilton, New Zealand, is a co-ed, decile two year 1–6 school. It is situated on Bankwood Road, Chartwell and has a roll of 308 students and has approximately 25 staff.[1][2][3]

History

The school was founded in 1966 and then had a roll of 120 students. Then the area was farmland and over the next 20 years the school benefited from the rapidly growing area. Since then with Hamilton's housing growing northwards, Hukanui, Rototuna and more recently, Te Totara schools have kept Bankwood's roll down to 308 students.

Fairfield Cluster

The school is involved in the Fairfield Cluster. This enables the school to attend festivals with a wide range of schools in North-East, Hamilton, all of which except St Joseph's and Southwell are contributing schools to Fairfield Intermediate.
