Baniyas District

Baniyas District (Arabic: منطقة بانياس) is a district (mantiqah) of the Tartus Governorate in Syria. At the 2004 Census it had a population of 176,351.[1] The centre of the district is the city of Baniyas.

Divisions

The district of Baniyas is divided into seven sub-districts or Nāḥiyas (population according to 2004 official census):

  • Baniyas nahiyah (ناحية بانياس): population 94,832.[2]
  • Al-Rawda nahiyah (ناحية الروضة): population 11,688.[3]
  • Al-Annazah nahiyah (ناحية العنازة): population 18,446.[4]
  • Al-Qadmus nahiyah (ناحية القدموس): population 22,370.[5]
  • Hammam Wasel nahiyah (ناحية حمّام واصل): population 8,522.[6]
  • Al-Tawahin nahiyah (ناحية الطواحين): population 10,024.[7]
  • Talin nahiyah (ناحية تالين): population 8,351.[8]
