Bangarupalem is a small town on national highway 4 (NH4) and a mandal head quarters in Chittoor district, Andhra Pradesh, India. It is nationally a well known producer/business center for mangoes, coconuts, milk, tomatoes and granite and is the market-yard center for four mandals in Chittoor district.
Bangarupalem is one of the major production and export centers of mangoes and pulp in India. Mangoes and pulp are exported to all over India, including Jalgoan, Pune, Nasik, Jamshedpur, and Bharampur and also other countries.
Mogili, a village near the town is famous for Lord Shiva's temple. Srini Mega Food Park located at Mogili village, (8 km from Bangarupalem) is one of India's largest integrated food parks. [2] This town is also famous for contributing so many national and international level Volleyball players for India. So far three players represented India at international level and twenty players at national level. Raising star M.V.Muralikrishna(Actor) born in Madhava Nagar village, which is very nearby Bangarupalyam (2 km).
Temples
The distance from Bangarupalem to Tirumala Venkateswara Temple,is around 110 kilometers and other prominent temples near by are Kanipakam Lord Vinayaka temple and Arthagiri Hanuman temple. Bangarupalem is located on the National Highway (NH4) which connects the major metros Bangalore and Chennai, which are almost equi-distant from this town (approx. 170 km each).
D.P Palayam - దక్షిణ పాత పాలెం
Dakshina Patha Palem also known as D.P Palayam is one of the nearest villages to visit. Sri Veera Vijaya Anjaneya Swami temple is famous in this village. Every month during the full moon day special poojas, aaradhans are performed to lord Hanumanji, thousands of people in and around Chittoor, Gudiyattam and Vellore visit this temple.
One can reach D.P Palayam from Bangarupalem via Yeguva KanthalaCheruvu or chittoor or Gudiyattam. From Chittoor APSRTC operates direct bus D.K Cheruvu this travels via Paradarami and D.P Palayam. People can also reach Paradarami and then can reach D.P Palayam by any Share Autos or TNSTC buses or any private bus.
