Bandhanam (English: Bondage) is a 1978 Malayalam film written and directed by M. T. Vasudevan Nair. The film observes a boy's return from city living to the village. The film's mood is sorrowful: the boy cannot shake himself free of the experience of the city and fails to adapt to village life. The cast includes Janardhanan, Sankaradi, Veeran, Sukumaran, Nilamboor Balan, Shobha and Shubha,P. K. Abraham, Santhakumari,Kunjandi,Thrissur Elsy.
The title of the film literally translates to"bondage". The title is taken from a short story of the same name by MT although the film is not an adaptation the story.
