Baloda Bazar city is a nagar palika parishad in Baloda Bazar district in the state of Chhattisgarh, India. PIN 493332.It is recently declared as a District.It is famous for its cement plants. BalodaBazar is surrounded by world class cement factories like Ambuja cement,L&T cement,Lafarge cement,grasim cement,shree cement,emami cement etc.

Baloda Bazar is located at 21°40′N 82°10′E / 21.67°N 82.17°E.[1] It has an average elevation of 254 m (833 ft).
Education
The town has two Government run colleges, a Government run High School and over 50 private educational institutions.There are no Engineering & Polytechnic colleges at present in the area.
Demographics
As of the 2008 India census,[2] Baloda Bazar had a population of 27,853. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Baloda Bazar has an average literacy rate of 69%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with 57% of the males and 43% of females literate. 14% of the population is under 6 years of age. It is 84 km from Raipur & 60 km from Bilaspur. Total area is about sq. 16 km. The main occupation of the people is agriculture and service in cement factories. It is a good source of cement. Basic facilities like schools, electricity, water, and hospitals are easily available here. The educational institutions are of basic level(Up to graduation). For higher studies, a student has to go outside because there is no engineering & politechnique college. Baloda Bazar has been a centre for education for the neighbouring areas for many decades.A number of private institutions have come up now for the primary education and one Law college is also running since many years. There is a famous temple of "Lord Shiva". Which is located in front of Bus-Stand.
History
This town was very famous for its cattle market in the region. The market still exists with name "Bhaisa Pasra".
Purani Basti or the area adjoining the Mawli Mata Mandir is the oldest area of the town.
