Balesar Taluka

Balesar Taluka is a taluka in Jodhpur District of Rajasthan state in western India.[1] Headquarters for the taluka is the village of Balesar.

Balesar Taluka is a central taluka among the eleven talukas in Jodhpur District. It borders Phalodi Taluka to the north, Osian Taluka and Mandor Taluka to the east, Luni Taluka to the southeast, Barmer District to the southwest and Shergarh Taluka to the west.[2]

History

In 2009 Balesar Taluka was created out of the eastern half of Shergarh Taluka, before that Balesar had been a subtehsil with a separate panchayat samiti,[3] sometimes referred to as ILRC Balesar.[4]
