Delos M. Bagby Elementary School[1] is a public elementary school located in the Cambrian School District of San Jose, California. It is a California Distinguished School which educates approximately 600 students annually, from grades kindergarten to fifth.

As of 2009, the school principal is Ms. Kathy Kimpel.[2] Approximately 16% of the students who attend qualify for the free or reduced lunch program, in contrast to the California state average of 48.5%.

Enrichment programs

Bagby Elementary School offers several enrichment programs, including the Art Vistas program, Gifted & Talented Education (GATE) program, and specialized Wednesday Enrichment Workshops. Several music programs are offered as well, including vocal music, choir, and instrumental music.

Trivia

  • The school mascot is the Bagby Barracuda.
  • The mural at the main entrance to the school was designed by district art teacher Art Brown in approximately 1968. Each student in the school selected and was allowed to place one individual tile.
