The composer Johann Sebastian Bach lived at two addresses during his stay in Köthen. As one of the properties has been demolished, Bach House (German: Bachhaus Köthen) normally refers to the house which is still standing and which the composer occupied in the period 1719-23. This property on Wallstraße (Wall Street) was completed in 1719 and Bach is assumed to have been the first tenant.[1] During the few years he lived there his first wife died and he remarried.
