Babushkin Island (69°6′S 157°36′E / 69.100°S 157.600°ECoordinates: 69°6′S 157°36′E / 69.100°S 157.600°E) is a small island lying 5.5 nautical miles (10 km) north of Archer Point and 5 nautical miles (9 km) east of Matusevich Glacier Tongue, Oates Land, Antarctica. It was mapped by the Soviet Antarctic Expedition (1958) and named for Mikhail Babushkin, a Soviet polar aviator lost in the Arctic.[1]
