Babna Reka is a dispersed settlement in the Šmarje pri Jelšah municipality in eastern Slovenia. It lies in the Kozjansko area to the south of Šmarje. The area was traditionally part of Lower Styria. The municipality is now included in the Savinja statistical region.[2]
