Bhabhanpura is a village on the outskirts of Varanasi city. 7 km away from the heart of the city. Nearby temples are an ancient Shiva temple on the ghat of Holy Ganges at Shivhar, and a Hanuman temple. The Lord Shiva temple is mentioned in vedic/puranic texts and is considered to be a very important temple. The first rays of Sun fall on the Shiva linga. Many rituals of this village, including marriages, are performed at Garva baba and Bhagauti Maa (Ma Durga). A Sankhya Yoga Ashram (Kapila Mandir) has been constructed at the same place by Swamiji Shree Om Prakash Aranya Ji. Swamiji's Kapila Ashram is at Sarnath and he propagates Samkhya Yoga darshan of Kapila Muni.

The employment profile of Babhanpura is inclined towards the Armed forces, Police force and the teaching profession. Most of the villagers are employed in Government Jobs. Dr. Mrs. Atiraj Singh of this village, a famous Hindi writer, is the Principal of Air Force School. Shri Shivmurat tiwari of Babhanpura was a well known wrestler. Dr. A.K. Singh, an Astrological Scientist from the village, is currently working in HBTI Kanpur as a senior professor. Some of the youths are in field of Research area and some are Serving as IT Consultant in top MNCs.

One of the noted scholar who originally hails from this village is Shri Sheo Lagan Tiwari. He served education department of UP Government in various capacities and authored several books in the field of continuing education. He also translated one of the ancient & voluminous religious text called " Brahmarchan Padhdhati" from Sanskrit to English. This book has got a good popularity in Thailand as well as in India among the worshippers of Lord Brahma.

There is a primary school in a nearby Raipura village.
