The BMW N43 is a straight-4 DOHC piston engine which replaced the N42 and was sold from 2007-2011.

Compared with its N42 predecessor, the N43 features direct injection. The N43 was sold alongside the N45 engine (which does not have valvetronic or direct injection)[1] and the N46 (which does not have direct injection) straight-4 engines.

The N43B16 has a 1599 cc displacement and produces 90 kW (122 PS; 121 hp) and 160 Nm.[2]

The N43B20 has a 1995 cc displacement and produces up to 125 kW (170 PS; 168 hp) and 210 Nm.[2]
