BLESMA

BLESMA (in full the British Limbless Ex-Service Men's Association) is a British charitable organisation for disabled servicemen and women, their dependents and widows. It operates throughout the United Kingdom and is registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales (number 1084189).

The charity works to assist retired, former or serving servicemen and women who have lost a limb or limbs, or one or both eyes, or the use of limbs as a result of injury sustained in the line of duty whilst serving in any branch of Her Majesty's Forces or Auxiliary Forces, and to provide help and support, where called upon, to their dependents. The organisation can also offer help to service personnel who have lost limbs after leaving the Forces.[1]

BLESMA provides assistance to thousands of disabled ex-servicemen of all ages, ranging from veterans of World War II to those injured in present day conflicts and peacekeeping missions.
